Take your time around the estate’s gardens and flowering areas, where small birds can often be seen or heard among the trees and plants.
Ponds & Lake Edges
Open water, water lilies and quiet banks create attractive viewing points for waterbirds and shorebirds. Please enjoy the views from a respectful distance.
Petit Trou Lagoon & Mangroves

The Best Times to Go
For the quietest walks and the best chance of bird activity, head out around sunrise or again before sunset.
Early Morning
Around 5:30 am to 7:00 am
The cooler, quieter hours around sunrise are ideal for a relaxed walk through the estate. Bring water, move slowly and listen as the gardens and water’s edge come to life.
Late Afternoon
Around 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Before sunset, pause near the ponds or lagoon to enjoy softer light and the return of waterbirds to the area.
